What a bunch of shite to come home to!! I'm so sorry love! I wish all this bullshit wasn't going on ~ I'd really rather be hearing about your trip & hope it was excellent. I guess all this makes your decision to move seem that much more warranted.

That's awful! Our neighborhood police rep said that smash and grabs go way up during summer months and tend to slow down once school starts back up.

That being said, there have seemed to be more robberies, burglaries, and smash and grabs the last year or so.

Did you hear about the people getting abducted from their driveways/parking lots and forced to hand over their bank card and pins? It's happened 3 times in like the last week. All the victims have been dumped on Oak Cliff.

The odds of it happening to anyone are really slim, but it never hurts to be alert.

Agree with me_so_sparkle - there are a lot more robberies lately. A friend of our had his catalytic converter stolen from the parking lot near Angelika/Mockingbird Station (for god's sake - that should be a pretty safe place to park your car!).

Sorry dude, looks like a big hassle. If it makes you feel any better - someone stole 2 of my credit cards at Barnes and Nobles (went through my purse, took my credit cards (didn't take anything else so I didn't even notice for a day) and managed to rack up $6,000 worth of charges - in 1.5 days!!). Yes, the credit card company did credit me back - after I spent a total of 15 hours on the phone with them).

Good God--that's a terrible way to come back from vacation--I hope that fills your quota of bad experiences for the year.
