So here I am back in Rhode Island. It felt like it took eons to get here. What should have been an 18 hour drive took 23 hours. 23 hours in the car alone with no cruise control. (I stopped and slept at the Sleep Inn in Richmond, I couldn't do 23 hours straight, in case you are concerned) Only ONE lane was open on the George Washington bridge ( ( Read more... )

Yes, the goodie bag was/is awesome. I will let you know about my new apartment when I get moved in. Right now it's oh-so depressing covered in boxes and bags, but when I actually "live" here, maybe I'll like it.
I splurged and bought some nice things (I'm a domestic scrooge, they weren't really that nice), such as fake flowers (mom was horrified) and 2 new rugs and a new bathmat. And a showerhead (I did not have one, and decided it was required - even though the shower functions without one)
I was too cheap to buy new trash cans, though mine seem to be covered in a layer of barf. I did, however, buy some clorox spray for said trash cans.
Ooh, I also bought a coffee maker! No more instant coffee!
