My favorite writer died yesterday.  :(
Rest in Peace, Mr. Vonnegut.  Thanks for the books.

You're on Eastern time and that obviously helped you get to your journal faster than me.

I can't say ditto enough.

I get up early on Tuesdays and Thursdays too. I'm pretty sure Welcome to the Monkey House (the whole collection of stories, not just the title one) changed my life. At least in terms of opening the door to a whole new genre of literature, which for someone as book-obsessed as myself, had a great life impact.

Monkey House is actually the one I read most recently. A couple of years ago I think.

It was my window to Mr. V and one of the books I take with me everytime I move, the other being Shakespeare's sonnets. The odd thing is I actually discovered Welcome to the Monkey House when I was 15 in my summer Shakespeare class, for which I bought the book of sonnets. I actually didn't think about the connection until today.

I associate him with New England. It seems like a lot of his stories are based out of Cape Cod, Hyannis Port, or some other nearby area.
