And you call yourself a bass player. It's a style of playing, where you slap the string by the base of the neck with your thumb (the slap half). Then you combine that with plucking the string with your index or middle finger, the pop. It's a pretty cool sound, and not a lot of bassists do it. Two handed tapping is also a cool technique to try, a lot of really good bassists do it.
