BIG HUG TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINGLE ANNOUNCEMENT!
Let's just say that from the moment I started to like Hey!Say!JUMP, the members of SixTONES had always been on my radar. Which here means I actually want to see them debut. But at the time, around 2008, the members were on different Junior units. If you had been following Juniors from that period or Shounen Club, you would definitely see these little guys on your screen. Looking back (as if it's too long ago, but let's go along with it), we can see Shintaro performing usually with JUMP's Yama-chan, Yutti and his older bro, Ryu, or there were times he was with Taiga along with Casey, Noel and Yuta (Uekusa). Oh, those were the days. And during concerts they would be performing with Hip Hop JUMP (ugh, fave!) having Juri (famously known as Koki's younger brother back then), Lewis Jesse, and Hagi-chan somehow always in the spotlight in that unit. Mind you, I never knew which was Jesse's first name for years until he dropped the Lewis (not a very resourceful fangirl). And back then I would mistake Hagi-chan for Jesse or vice versa (but who cares, they were adorable!). But let's not forget B.I Shadow (huhu Misaki). I had barely started following them when Hokuto joined in. And then Misaki had quit Johnnys and in comes Kouchi, who still looks like the same (well, he has visible facial hair now but not really the point). Ugh, I really really really loved Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I Shadow and NYC Boys (yes, with Boys). And if you are/were a big B.I Shadow fan then you might have loved Akuma no Koi and La La Li La (guilty pleasure). Again, those were the days. Until, of course, Sexy Zone's debut (talk about expectation versus reality). We can actually say this was similar to how Ya-Ya-yah got disbanded (you know, two front members successfully debuted and the other two were set aside even though they were a very good team). But we would not have JUMP or Sexy Zone now, or even SixTONES (aha!).
Of course, I will also mention Snow Man (NABEEEE). The first time I ever came across them, they were called Mis Snow Man with Yuma (Sanada) and Nozawa-freaking-Yuki (at least he's a bit active recently on IslandTV). Doesn't this bring us all back to Shounen Club where Koyama and Nakamaru were still the MCs? Ah, good days. But with the recent addition of Raul, Koji and Ren, I somehow got the idea that they were pushing for a debut (or at least something). This addition pulled down the average age of the entire group and now we have nine kira-kira members of Snow Man. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting much when they announced that they were adding 3 new members, but it worked out (and they really worked out to manage to get to a CD debut). Also, the Youtube channel and IslandTV, as I have noticed, made all Junior units and non-unit-affiliated Juniors get more recognition. Let's consider this a big plus on the agency's side. Juniors have been appearing more on TV outside the usual Johnnys-oriented shows.
So let's party (badum tss) celebrate this big announcement and hope that Johnny's, in general, will continue to grow (in both quality and quantity). Yes, I am also betting Naniwa Danshi is going to be the next Kansai Junior group to debut (just a feeling, nothing final there). And I am not letting go of the idea that Travis Japan will debut in the near future. But seriously, I am just super happy that SixTONES gets to debut, and Snow Man as well. Hello, simultaneous? Some (er, maybe a lot. Depends?) might have been disappointed that neither group were announced to debut last year, but let's support all of them.
THIS IS SUCH A HAPPY ANNOUNCEMENT THAT I COULDN'T STOP MYSELF FROM CRYING.
HAPPY. GLAD. LUCKY. LOVE
