We liked Pirates of the Carribean - good ripping fun. I liked Monsters Ball too - I had heard things about on some TV show when it came out on screen in the US, and so I looked for it. Some people said it was only good because of the sex part, but I thought that it was a curious premise for a movie and much more realistic than a lot of other things I have seen recently; I enjoyed it in a strange kind of way.
I haven't seen the others. This weeks 3 for £5 at Blockbuster (Gold Collection) are American Pie 2, (for shits and giggles); Punch Drunk Love (which was very weird......I'm not sure how I feel about it!!) and The Graduate, because for reasons unknown I still haven't seen it.
Isn't that annoying about Monsters Ball - that movie was not about sex and the sex certainly wasn't sexy - except that one scene where you don't see anything, which was more sweet than sexy.
Put in your reviews when you are done ;~) - tonight The Bourne Identity 1 ... if we survive the heat ...g
Gabs --- if you get a chance - see The Butterfly Effect. Stunning - and I mean stunning. At the end of this - I was crying, and my jaw was hangin on my boobs. Undermarketed movie of the year. An amazing, eyes wide open 2 hours about "what if", with a beautiful ending. It's honestly the best movie I've seen in the past 6 months - far over and above KillBill 2.
I did enjoy Pirates of the Carribbean, but that's mostly cuz I could watch Johnny Depp eat peanuts and like it. He is pure eye-candy, but his movies are SOOOOOOOOOOOO good.
I enjoyed the remake of The Italian Job, but then again, I enjoyed the original - it's just a fun story with great cars.
I haven't seen any of the others on your list, but I can't recommend Butterfly Effect highly enough. It's a great deal more than you think it is.
I need to catch up on some of these movies myself. I do have an interesting movie for you to consider watching. It's called Gods and Monsters . It's about director James Whale . He's known for making the original Frankenstein movie. The fantastic copies of master impressionist paintings are also worth noting. These copies in the movie were actually painted by James Whale.
