Once again, Gabriel is visiting the estate for something other than conferring with Otto about lenses and f-stop settings. Shy by nature and habit, this takes a bit of doing, but he's here. He knows these talks help with getting his thoughts in order.

So, he knocks on the door and doesn't try to talk himself out of leaving.

The door's unlocked and slightly ajar, as is almost always the case. Lorne only ever closes his door when he's busy being all ears, be it on the phone or face to face, heart to heart.

He's especially fond of that last bit, but it doesn't come easy, and it takes a lot of trust. Maybe that's why he likes heart-to-hearts the best.

"Come on in, sweetpea!"

Sweetpea? He hasn't heard that since he was knee-high to his father. Lorne might see a bit of a blush when he enters, for that one.

"Ehm." Close the door, find a place to sit. "I brought some cinnamon bread. Cooking is one of the things I end up doing when I need distraction."

(( oh. my. god. I am so sorry I've made you wait this long--and I started the thread! RL is so unpredicatable... ;>_> ))

"A bona fide jack of all trades, I see." He gets out all the fixings for tea, Earl Grey, and sits down in front of Gabriel while the tea's busy steeping.

"It smells wonderful. Between you bringing tasty treats and Otto with his coffee, I'm the luckiest guy at the institute!"

((What? Five, six days is nothing compared to how long I'm making you wait on our other thread! XD I know all about RL getting in the way. No worries.))

When the tea is ready he adds a bit of milk. Perfect.

"Somewhat. I've spent a lot of time on my own, so it's good to know a few things. Savannah's quite like that as well, knows how to cook. I think she's in Some's class. At least, I know they're friends." Oh dear, he'd rambling. Sipping tea now.
