Notes: b_sim and I keep talking on Twitter about how HageTakumi is constantly being rejected by G, despite how desperate he seems to be for attention…
Nobody in the rehearsal room so much as blinked when Gackt strode over, tapped Yuki on the shoulder, and then kissed the actor straight on his lips the moment he had turned around. “Thanks,” the singer said and walked away without so much a moment’s hesitation nor even a hint of explanation for his actions.
Yuki, however, did not seem to mind. “You’re welcome,” he remarked just as casually, and went back to reading over his script for the Gakuensai voice-overs he was set to record later that day.
Takumi, however, did blink. And did seem to mind. The guitarist made his way over to Gackt, trying to play off being as nonchalant as possible. Gackt had taken a seat behind Val’s drum kit and was twirling drum sticks between his fingers. Takumi could not help but notice the way Gackt was rubbing his full lips together, shifting the upper over the lower as if he was spreading lipstick over them.
The guitarist felt his heart do its funny little flutter like it did every time that Gackt looked at him. Damn that man for always looking so handsome. “What’s up, Hagemi?” Gackt asked him, looking up and over his sunglasses.
“Why… Why’d you kiss Yuki?” Takumi asked, cursing the tiny bit of quiver in his voice.
“Oh, my lips were dry and he had just put on chapstick,” the singer spoke as if it was the most logical thing in the world.
“Couldn’t you ask him to borrow it instead?”
“Huh…” Gackt reacted like that thought had never occurred to him. “Guess I could have. Where’s the fun in that though?” With that, the singer returned his attention to the drum kit before him, starting to tap out a beat.
Takumi fell back, a look of determination on his face. That evening, after rehearsal, he stopped by a local drug store and purchased a set of ten.
The next day at the studio, when Gackt came in, Takumi made sure to very deliberately and obviously apply a layer of the brand new chapstick, but before he had a chance to do anything more, their blonde bassist bounced over and snatched the tube from Takumi's hands. “Can I borrow that?” Sato chirped and used it without giving Takumi a second to reply nor a chance to protest.
A mere moment later, Gackt strode by, paused in front of the two of them, and lifted Sato’s face up by the chin before touching his lips to the bassist’s. “Thanks.”
Sato replied with an innocent but delighted, “You’re welcome!”
Gackt happily smacked his lips together as he obliviously strolled past a completely devastated Takumi.
