The doorbell rang. Dinner must be here. He walked down the hall thinking how much he liked being able to order takeaway and not being given the evil eye as he consumed thousands of calories without one iota of guilt. He opened the door.
“Thank…You! what are you doing here?” Disappointment flashed across his face, followed quickly by confusion. He looked behind the tall guitarist for Gackt.
You blushed. “I, um, thought I’d come and get in a couple of days of sun and warm temperatures. Can I come in?”
Takumi shook himself out of his confused stupor. “Oh,” he said, moving away from the door, “sure, come on in.”
He headed for the kitchen, ”I’ll get us some drinks.” ’Damn!’ he thought, ’now I’m going to have to share dinner.’ He was staring into the refrigerator when his phone rang in his pocket. “Hello?”
“Takumi,” Chacha said breathlessly.
“Chacha?” This was getting weirder and weirder.
“This is the first chance I’ve had to call. I tried to call Gackt, but I couldn’t get in touch with him.”
Well, that would explain the music Takumi had heard off and on all day. Apparently Gackt packed so quickly he forgot his phone. Takumi didn’t think anything could separate the singer from his phone; wasn’t it grafted to his hand?
“Listen, You’s on his way there. I think he’s finally beginning to crack. This whole ‘prove he doesn’t need Gackt in his life’ thing is taking its toll. He packed in such a hurry he forgot his phone.”
Takumi smirked. “He’s not the only one,” he snorted.
“What?" Chacha frowned at his phone and shook it. "I think we’ve got a bad connection.”
“Listen, Cha, where are you?… Just go to Gaku’s. No, better yet, go to You’s place.”
“Why? What for?”
"Just go to You’s and wait. It’s about to get a whole lot crazier.”
