Questions and Answers
Chacha walked in the door loaded down with bags from the food court at the mall. He’d bought so much that he made sure to get detailed instructions on how to reheat everything from the kind ladies who helped him. Maybe all this food would keep Gackt calm.
The first thing he noticed as he set the bags on the kitchen table and tossed his coat on a chair was the quiet. The second was the absence of a naked singer; well, he could be in the bathroom. But then Chacha’s brain latched onto a worst-case scenario of the bedroom door ripped off its hinges. Or maybe he just picked the lock.
He raced down the hall, then stopped abruptly. Muffled sounds were coming from the bedroom, murmuring voices, several moans, and then…. Oh. You was home.
He tiptoed back toward the kitchen. Wait. Why was he tiptoeing? With those two a bomb could go off, and they would be oblivious; he could throw a party, and they’d never know.
As he reached the kitchen he was grinning widely. Apparently he’d been gone long enough that the two most oblivious, stubborn lovers he’d ever known had finally figured things out, let go of pride and guilt and just sheer stubbornness, and admitted to each other- and themselves what everyone else had always known. They belong together.
At least the dilemma of what to do with all this food had been solved.
He grabbed his coat and let himself out into a beautiful sunny day, relieved to be going home to a well-deserved nap. On the way he pulled out his phone and texted Takumi: “Mission accomplished.”
