Summary: Yuu contemplates how he and Gackt see eye-to-eye about everything, except when Gackt brings people home.

Yuu sat at the end of his bed early in the morning, guitar held in agile hands. His fingers worked deftly to adjust the instrument, honing it to perfection with the smallest motions. It was an artist's moment, something private and usually something he enjoyed intensely. At this moment, that was not the case; for each little adjustment to tune the guitar was done without thought.

His mind was elsewhere. Namely, it was wandering through the many arguments of what he liked to call the Great Debate, or rather, How To Behave After Gackt Brings Someone Over For The Night.

It was funny to think that no matter how long they lived together, Yuu had never fully grown used to his best friend's sexual conquests. Everything else was eerily smooth between them, as the other support members and even the fans liked to point out. They finished each other's sentences. They knew what the other always wanted for a holiday gift. Sometimes, they could go into a restaurant and pick off the menu what the other would like to eat without even giving it much thought.

This kind of harmony made it easy for Yuu to live with Gackt, as the companionship was something he always needed and he was sure his best friend did as well. The other band members had lived with them for a while, but then departed. In the end, they were always the core two, and Yuu quite liked it that way.

Because of this, having Gackt bring someone home with him ruined the peace in Yuu's opinion.

What bothered the guitarist the most was that he couldn't decide what he found more disturbing; the one-night stands or the people that were more. He understood about urges, naturally, but sometimes the people Gackt chose for one night of passion didn't seem to click with Yuu. Beautiful women and handsome men that either looked around the place with awe in their eyes or acted as if they had slept with every star and this was nothing new to them. Yuu tended not to like either type.

The ones that Gackt had feelings for, now they were difficult for Yuu as well. His schedule was in a way molded to Gackt's, though he managed to get more sleep than his ridiculously creative and determined friend. When Gackt had feelings for someone Yuu knew about it without even asking; the singer just acted differently, spoke differently. In some cases it became quite irritating, like the disaster with Hyde. Yuu had swore to himself several times after the filming of Moon Child that he simply wouldn't spend time with those two alone, as they seemed to just play a constant game of push-and-pull. Hyde wasn't interested, Gackt wanted him anyway. And Yuu had never heard the end of it.

Yuu didn't know who the person was that Gackt had brought home last night, as he had been working on a piece of music which has totally absorbed him. Afterward he'd gone to the kitchen for a drink and spotted someone else's shoes near the door in the process, which had been the only clue he'd needed. The slender violinist had put on headphones almost immediately afterward. He didn't need to hear it.

But now it was morning, and there was only so long that Yuu could stay in his room, afraid to go into the kitchen for breakfast. He hadn't heard anybody depart as of yet, but he was an odd sleeper, so he might have missed something. It was a Saturday, which was usually the day that he and Gackt would make breakfast together, but he wasn't going to go and start making something if they had a guest. How pathetic that would make him look...

Sighing, Yuu steadied himself; this was his house too! He set the guitar back in the case that had been resting next to him on the bed, gentle with the instrument despite the hardened look in his eyes. It didn't matter what happened, this would just keep going on anyway. It had for years.

Each step to his bedroom door was measured and quiet, and his breath seemed to echo in his ears. Yuu grasped the door's handle and twisted it, heading for the living room, which was empty. He heard no signs of life from any of the other rooms, so he felt it was safe to head into the kitchen. Pouring himself some juice, he contemplated on what to make for breakfast, as it seemed it wasn't going to be a 'traditional' Saturday.

"There you are."

Jumping, Yuu almost spilled the juice all over the floor. He looked up to see Gackt, dressed casually and looking none-too-satisfied, which didn't match up with him bringing home someone.

"You scared me to death, you bastard."

"You should be more aware of your surroundings." the singer answered calmly, taking Yuu's glass and drinking from it, which led the violinist to get out another one which he filled carefully.

"I shouldn't have to in my own house." Yuu quipped in return, and he realized his tone didn't have to do with the little scare at all. Sheepish, he put the container of juice back in the refrigerator. Despite his unsaid prayers, Gackt was looking at him with that unsettling expression that meant his friend had read him like an open book, as usual.

"Is there something you'd like to talk about?" Gackt asked, his voice quiet. It seemed that he was serious, but Yuu was still tentative. This wasn't Gackt's normal behavior after a one-night stand... or had it been someone else?

"No. Yes. I..." Yuu sighed, shaking his head, "It's not really my business, but it is my business. This," he made a wide gesture, meaning the tension, "Isn't right at all."

It was only then that he lowered his voice, unsure if the guest was still around. He should have checked to see if the unfamiliar shoes were still there, but Gackt was currently standing in his way. The singer seemed to not want to talk, and kept giving Yuu the look that signaled the violinist needed to elaborate, which just made Yuu upset.

"I shouldn't need to tell you that it bothers me, Gacchan." Yuu pointed out, "We've lived together for years, can't you tell when I don't like something?" he finally asked, frustration written all over his expression and through his voice. He couldn't keep quiet about this any longer.

Gackt continued to gaze at him, and Yuu held his ground, even when the singer approached him slowly so there was very little space between them. Considering how they had met, he felt a little intimidated by this, but before he could open his mouth to ask Gackt what the hell he was doing - or if he wanted to fight to settle this or something - Gackt's lips touched his.

It lasted for only a few seconds, at which point Yuu pulled back, leaving him terribly confused. He was ashamed to admit it took him a few moments before he could look Gackt in the eyes again, though his friend's demeanor seemed just as warm and enigmatic as always.

"Gacchan, why-"

"Perhaps if you paid more attention, you could tell when I needed company." Gackt told him, smiling wryly.

Yuu could only stare, unable to comprehend. All he knew was that his lips tasted like juice and something that was probably just Gackt's own flavor, something he had never expected to come to know. Multiple attempts at stringing words together failed, and finally, Gackt broke the moment by chuckling and turning to open one of the cupboards.

"Let's make something to eat already, Yuuchan."

"... Okay."
