Yes, I'm going to add to the most likely floods of posts about this on everyone's friends pages. However, I have the feeling that I have something a bit different to say about it all

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I was really starting to feel like I couldn't say anything for risk of being stoned to death by my own friends list.
*laughs* I totally meant .2%! See?! One hour of sleep is bad for grammar!
You wouldn't have gotten stoned by me. I couldn't believe how stupid people sounded when they were responding to the post that the obviously poor frazzled guy was making. *shakes head* Yeah, growing up is in order.
Since you said this so much better, may I please link to this post? I think more people need to see a mature response that didn't totally bash LJ.
I really agree with what you said here. :) That's why I didn't post more about the issue, I do think that everyone is overreacting. I mean, how hard is it to take things like shota and incest off your interest list? You can still find the porn if this type is what floats your boat.
I checked the list of the journals deleted. Hell, if I was a maintainer and saw usernames like those on that list, I'd delete them too.
Maybe LJ didn't handle this with the highest professionalism, but at least they admitted and fixed any occuring mistakes.
Here here! Overzealous and moronic groups like WfI piss me off, and LJ's knee-jerk reaction and subsequent disappearing act was most uncool, but people overreacted like whoa! Seriously.
People can write whatever they want to in the name of fiction, but labeling it as such doesn't make their interest in it any less creepy, in my opinion. And putting words like "pedophilia" in your list of interests really is just asking for trouble.
I dunno, I found this all rather fascinating from a sociological standpoint.
Amen to that. I'm here from kyofujimiya's journal, and I agree 100% with you. (=99.8%+0.2%) :-P Anyway, just wanted to show support. Thanks for posting.

[You put it a lot more eloquently than I did. Mine involved less words and more swearing, so I deleted it.]
I am behind your statements 99.8%. That other .02% never gave a shit about the fuss to start with.
Pardon my one-hour-of-sleep randomness. But again, thank you.
