I'm an active person, and I like to go out and enjoy very engaging sports like snowboarding, rock climbing, hockey and swimming. That's not a fun way to spend the summer.

What is your treatment plan? Some NSAIDs (they like naproxen up here) to help relieve the swelling and a few months of physical therapy?

Keep walking as best you can, or get in the pool. Both are pretty good for keeping your strength up (and swimming causes no impact).

Best of luck!

Against my mom's and my doctor's good wishes and recommendation, I'm sticking with the chiropractor. My doctor gave me no help with this and didn't seem too phased when I said that I had scoliosis. She also told me to walk away from the chiropractor and go to physical therapy. Quite honestly, the chiropractor is the only guy who is telling me what is physically wrong with me and giving me results in improvement. I am taking ibuprofen, but I found that changing my chair at work from the herman miller chair to a sturdy hard wooden chair is radically changing the way I feel during the day. Amazing right?

That's fantastic that you've found a good chiropractor.

My treatment path for herniated disks has led to two back surgeries. Both times there was a night and day difference and I could not have been happier with the results, but I know that most people are not fans of the knife.
