What NAS to get?

I have a "request for comments" from my more technically inclined friends.

I am in the likely market for a NAS to store and play multimedia. The requirements are that the NAS is headless and administered via Ethernet. It has to be able to store up to at least 2TB and possibly have 4 HDD storage bays. 2 HDD storage bays are OK though for the first ( Read more... )

Wow, either lj is a ghost town now or nobody cares. Either way I decided what I'm getting.

HP EX470 w/ Windows Home Server.
+
2x 1TB Western Digital Caviar drives

It is the most inexpensive server setup, with most of the requirements that I require. There are a few things I don't like, but for now I want to see how well this works before I go more professional with the setup.
