*hugs* for you. It's hard for people who haven't suffered depression etc to really understand it. I know, coz I was one of those people who didn't until I had it. That said, being combative and angry about it is certainly not at all helpful, and I hope that I was never like that. I hope your sactuary is usable again soon, and that the new meds smooth out quickly.

I understand about the lack of sanctuary, especially when either one's own place is being renovated or one is not living in one's own place. In San Francisco, I discovered urban sanctuaries, places where I could indeed "walk it off" (meaning, walk out of the combative situation and just sit and blink out of existence for awhile). For me, that place was the Botanical Garden in Golden Gate park. I came to know every inch of that place, and would melt into the cloud forest or watch hummingbirds in the scented garden. It was a nice place to be alone, to not get cruised by other guys, to be back in the midst of nature on a peninsula entirely taken up by buildings
