Ok, Sydney Knitters, I'm sure you know about the Stitch And Bitch controversy that is going on between the Chicago SnB (aka the underdog) and Sew Fast Sew Easy (aka the evil empire). And so I got to thinkin' about how to support the Chicago group and I thought I might order some buttons from them through cafe press. I really like the skull logo (it ( Read more... )

Either Sew Fast Sew Easy are a bunch of idiots, greedy bastards or have a personal vendetta against Chicago SnB. That lawsuit is so ridiculous!

Duh! I'm SO IN. Put me down for two. I'll also mention it tomorrow night if you're not there and see if any of the other girls want one.

(I'm so going to suggest to Albert that we trademark "Stitch and Bitch Cafe" in Australia for when our coffee shop opens. Wouldn't that be hilarious?)

If you can't find enough takers in your Sydney group, I'd be interested in taking one or two and chipping in for postage. I can't believe SFSE, they must be incredibly ignorant of tm and copyright laws.

There is no lawsuit against a stitch and bitch club. There was only a letter to remove stitch and bitch from the items sold in the Chicago online store.

Debbie Stoller claims invention to stitch and bitchs in her first book. I think SFSE, which is a small business, could have a case because it is definitely on their website for a long time like 1994.

This has been everywhere. if you can see my comments on their site before they get deleted, I have left question as to the merit of where the term stitch and bitch came from/

Wow, nice damage control there, Anonymous! I'm sure leaving the same comment on a bunch of people's blogs is really going to clear up all that negative PR.

Anyhoo, I mentioned the scandal tonight at the TAPESTRY CRAFT STITCH AND BITCH CAFE, WHICH IS SO FAST, SO EASY, AND SO CLEVER, and everyone was outraged. We were all using Stitch and Bitch way before Debbie Stoller's books, and certainly no one in Sydney's ever been to some crappy rinky-dink sewing website. Fiona's definitely interested in a button, Amy, so count her in. I can probably sell a couple others too.
