Get as much sleep and liquids as you can manage, and take some vitamin C if you can get it. Some people find that eating the spiciest food they can deal with will help "burn out" a cold in the early stages. Have a firm talk with your immune system, and tell it that you can't get sick now, because you've got things to do.
Stuff does dry by itself, even along the Atlantic coast - it just takes longer. My hair was down to my ass before my misadventures in the hospital, and I never use a hair dryer on it. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours before it's completely dry; other times it'll be done in half an hour. (I can't speculate about beards, since I don't happen to have one.)
The air is different here - your sinuses may be trying to adjust to far more moisture in them than normal, causing some blockage. The suggestion of spicy foods is a good one. So is a neti pot (not that you can really easily buy one of those and travel with it!)
It was wonderful seeing you and getting a chance to hug.
Arni drove all the way home - 6:00 was '36-hours awake' for me and I was fading fast. He drove, I dozed. And heard your music in my dreams.

Indeed, a cute little ceramic one would be more weight, bulk and fragile-stuff than you need to add to your pack right now. But ~ any friendly-neighborhood-drug-store would be happy to sell ya a pretty functional plastic imitation... As I recall, the squeeze bottle and 100(!) saline-packs cost us about $15...

I'm not built for the Neti Pot, it seems. I drown.
But the proper solvent is the love of friends, and time.
I'm in Kent, having fun setting decorations and putting together costumes and spending time with friends. I'm gonna try to get a website for the streaming tomorrow, when there's to be streaming, and I'll post hereabouts the wheres and whens.

I like oil of peppermint, for congestion (and bad smells on the bus!). A dab on the mustache does the trick, but as t wicks to the skin, it burns a little!
