Oh, Universe, please help me find a spot to record tomorrow morning that has no car traffic, no airplane noises, and no unhappy people asking me not to play harp there
( Read more... )
Where are you right now. Might you use a rehearsal room at some school or possibly a church or library? Sometimes, a city park could work at the proper time, or even a state park. If you are near farms, that could be a possible solution to record in a shed while the animals are out doing their outside thing. I wish that I could think of more.
Obviously, the way to minimize the noise of car traffic is to get away from the road - somewhere with trees between you and the road would be good. To avoid airplane noises, stay away from the airport; I just looked at the city of Boulder on Google Maps, and you need to be somewhere in the southwestern quadrant of the city, such as the area near the university. (This is assuming you're in Boulder, of course.) But there's also wisdom in what notdefined says: find an indoor space. For purposes of recording, you might even pass up an hour or two of busking.
I'd inquired about the indoor space at the Senior Center. All booked. So I thought about the park near/underneath/around the Library and Creek. This is where I was told to "go do that somewhere else."
Naomi too me yesterday to a park outside Erie, with a small lake. Tracks will be up on thatharpguy.bandcamp.com by this evening. Thank you all for the encouragement!
