None of my quarrels with the landlady (actually the landlord's mother) have ever been that sweet :-)

Actually she's kind of an old dear. My landlord's day job is driving a tugboat, so he put his mother in charge of ordering all the stuff for rebuilding my house. Somehow she guessed that I'd like stainless-steel appliances for the kitchen, and created a color scheme of white, greyish-beige, pale grey, and steel, with carpeting in a soft shade of brown. Now if the plumber would just show up and hook up the fixtures...
