What are the percentages for letter grades now anyways?

I know that they are different than they were when I was in high school, anyway - it was a straight 60-69 is a C, 70-79 is a B, 80-100 is an A, thing. Apparently that's tres outre now.

The standard in the States seems to be 90+ = A, 80+ = B, 70+ = C, 60+ = D. Often I'll split the difference between that and what we grew up with.

I wondered too if it was dependent on where you are. The subjectivity of grades... I just prefer the numbers, myself. I mean, if you have to grade at all. There is, of course, something very idyllic-seeming about the concept of learning for learning's sake...
