I have all sorts of access to the outside world and yet I camp in my apartment with books and movies. So who's worse off?

Have you read Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series? The newest one is out in Hardback, but I refuse to buy anything until it's in Mass Market paperback, so I'm just rereading the others. Trashy sexy fantasy fun. Additionally, I just discovered that Elizabeth Moon, the author of "The Deed of Paksenarrion", which was a thoroughly enjoyable fantasy/adventure epic with a lead heroine (one of those things I'm a sucker for), is a Rice grad. Huh. Makes me like the huge book even more, although none of her other books sounded as interesting to me.

Hrrrm. I have nothing to offer on movies. I'm sure I've seen some lately, they're just not sticking out. Lots of intriguing ones coming out soon though.
