Second grade: Mrs. Gardener was one of the awesomest teachers ever. She took us on a field trip to the dairy. And she had one of those "Children Learn What They See" posters on the wall, and I thought it was a lot of claptrap.
These are really precious! I admit, I was counting how many girls showed up in pants instead of dresses with each subsequent photo. My parents dressed me up in skirts until 4th grade for my own class portraits. =)
LOL I hadn't even thought about the fact that they're all wearing dresses. My mom didn't let me wear pants to school AT ALL until 4th grade. School rules were changing really fast right about then. First you couldn't wear pants to school at all, then you could only do it when it was raining. Then you could wear pants, but not jeans... I guess I can't blame my mom for being careful.
Oh! I didn't know your school had a dress code. But I think parents must still like putting their little girls in dresses or something. I distinctly remember having a favorite white and blue dress with a balloon logo on the skirt hem.
Well my school had a dress code, I know that. But remember, that was back in the early 1970's. I've seen a lot of classes of little girls on picture day since I've been working in the schools, and they do still all come in dresses.
Your dress sounds adorable, dear. I had one that laced up the front and I thought it looked like a princess dress, back when I was about 8. I think that was the last dress I bothered really loving as a child.
