221B Baker St Pub & Grill - not reccommended

Underwhelming.

If you want good food in a relaxed atmosphere, a place where you can converse with friends, this isn't it. The food was mediocre, the decor drab, and the wait staff uninterested. The music didn't mesh with the theme at all, but maybe the occasional live bands are better?

I generally end up the designated driver, so I can't judge the quality of the wine/beer/spirits. However, while nobody in the group spit the alcohol out they weren't really eager to buy more.

And the food could really have used the help. I had the chicken nachos - six tostada halves with beans, cheese, peppers, green onions and tomato. It tasted all right, but there really wasn't much chicken. A couple of us shared the cobbler of the day - the portion size was more than generous - but the flavor left a lot to be desired. It was supposed to be Mango, but there was so much carmel sauce and cinnamon on top, in addition to the sugar and cinnamon used during baking, that there was no real taste other than extreme sweetness. The ice cream was really good, which somehow made the rest of the desert seem worse.

We left about half of the food on the table. Nobody plans to try again.
