Well, as much as I adore the current biology chair, he's a tree hugger. He just knows she'll come around, even though he has the hardest time with her, everyone in the department really can't stand her and most of the students don't even like her. She needs to go, but whether that will be soon or not, who knows. I do know my PI is up for chair next and she has made it abundantly clear that her first act as chair will be to give her the axe. I just don't remember how many years away that is.
