I have found in other parts of the world that pedestrians are on the lowest part on the totem pole, especially in the Asian countries. I saw many people get hit by cars and one of the people I was traveling with almost got hit by a bus because he was moving too slow across the cross walk. The only thing the cars did was honk, after they clipped the person, to tell them to get out of the way faster.

I am happy to live in the USA where we have laws saying hitting ppl with cars is not ok.
