Ugh, I used to be in those kinds of situations all the time when I worked in a corporate office. Its uncomfortable and depressing. There is never a good way to react. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Yeah, just be thankful that you still have a job to go to. I'm hearing this story more and more in a personal context.

Having just gone through this kind of thing back in October, I understand. So far, having a "weather the storm" attitude, and trying to be as optimistic as I can has helped me get by. I hope things work out for you.

Have gone through and currently going through that sort of thing...effective Jan 15th we lose another department. My advice, keep doing your job. If you stop, remaining management may see you an unneccessary or unproductive. That's just not a good place to be when employers are looking for cost savings.

Good luck

Been there, done that, suggested we put tiki torches by all of our cubicles so we could snuff them when someone got voted off the island. Don
t let the funeral atmosphere get at you. Particularly if management isn't done slashing yet. Just be you. If yer gonna get canned, it'll happen, if not, it won't... but slacking and grumbling isn't activity that'll help the latter.

Natural human reactions from all involved. Sorry to hear you're going through such a tough time.

33 people--wow! That's my ENTIRE company, plus a few folks from next door.
