While Caius and Cordelia had been living almost entirely separate lives long before he left for Washington, one of the strangest things about coming back to the house to mourn her and settle her affairs is how little the place has changed in his absence. She stirs at around 2:31, and after a while of wondering if he's coming back to bed ends up abandoning the shelter of the covers. Mina pads over to wherever Caius is (den or living room, one assumes), dressed in his shirt loose and unbuttoned over slender shoulders, underwear, and nothing else. She wordlessly slides onto the desk (or table!) next to the laptop, pressing her hands against her bare knees, watching Caius.

He's at the desk in the den; he seems to stir where he's sitting as she enters the room, but he doesn't look up from what he's doing until she's sitting in front of him. At this point he pushes the laptop backwards a little and leans back in the chair, watching her back. "Did I wake you?"

"Hardly," she smiles slightly, a flash of white teeth in the dim light, "you're very quiet when you choose to be."

Mina reaches out and presses her right foot against his right knee, light.

"It's a useful talent of mine." He covers her foot with a hand, sliding up past her ankle to rest at the back of her knee.
