Lately, Caius smokes outside in the garden; drinking coffee and hanging over his laptop, cursing at the battery. Since Mina has essentially taken up residence (for the obvious reasons), his schedule in and out of the home has necessarily adapted. Lingering down in the 'secret' garden below the pool puts him out of the way with his terrible, harmful ( Read more... )

Tall and slender as Mina is, she's not actually showing much yet - she imagines things will get a lot worse sociopolitically once she does, since she's neither confirmed nor denied her pregnancy, although rumors have quietly begun to swirl. She is sprawled comfortably on a loveseat, legs long enough that they hang over the edge at her knees, feet kicking lightly once in a while, and her arms are stretched above her head, which is tilted back, and her eyes are closed.

Nevertheless, she knows when Caius enters.

"I can smell the smoke on you from here," she tells him, lightly, which may or may not be the truth. Pregnancy does yield some enhanced/twisted senses, but Mina is also kind of a troll.

"Mm, now there's an idea." She slides her hand up to the back of his neck, regarding him from under her eyelashes with the beginnings of a smirk.

"I think you're getting very spoiled, Caius; too used to having me whenever you want me." Which doesn't mean she ever intends to hold out (pregnancy has certain side-effects, often, and Mina is no exception), but she can tease him with the idea.

"This from the woman who set out to do exactly that," Caius feigns reproachfulness, on the often-contentious subject of her spoiling him. "What capriciousness is this?" ...the affectionate sort, presumably. He draws away enough to put the case he's still carrying in one hand down on the table and sit on the edge, opposite her.
