the ongoing Adventures of Gakkun~

Today I'm gonna tell you about Gakuto and the Beanstalk.

Once upon a time, there was a gymnast called Gakkun. He was one of many gymnasts who went to the gym of the land. One fine day he decided to go to the gym. However, the dusty rocky road in which to get there was blocked, littered with the unassembled remains of a trampoline. A white terror had been racing through the land, but he had never seen such a sight before.

But Gakkun was not afraid of silver-white terrors! He tried to JUMP over the blockade! But it didn't work. He tried to FLIP over the blockade. But that didn't work either. He tried to LEAP over the blockade, but that, too, did not work.

There was another path to the gym, but it was not often travelled by gymnasts. Gakkun steeled his courage and ventured into the place where the greenery grew towards the sun.

The path became concealed and padded by leaves; some that came from bushes and plants, others that had fallen from the tall trees that grew along and, in some cases, on the road. The bushes and plants became increasingly dense, crowding Gakkun as he moved farther down the path. He started tripping over branches and raised roots in the soil, and began to use the foiliage to steady himself.

Something moved across the ground.

Gakkun pretended it wasn't there and kept moving forward. The road behind him was closing up, the wall of leaves and blossoms sealing it shut. He started moving faster, LEAPING over obstacles, JUMPING across leafy patches, and ROLLING under places where he could not go over.

The gymnast came to the end of the road. There was no way forward. No way back. The sky and sun was slowly being taken away as the flora and the fauna gathered around him, folding him inside a very green coccon.

He sat there very quietly, crouched down with his arms around his legs. He thought that he was going to die, you know, all nestled away from the road and the world.

The ground began to rumble. The leaves and petals pressed around him tighter, slipping in his shirt and tangling in his hair. Vines poked through the walls of his chamber, winding around his arms and legs, and pulling him out of his confinement!

Gakkun was PULLED BACKWARDS. He TUMBLED THROUGH THE AIR, ROLLING and TWISTING and ARCING TOWARDS THE SKY. The vines took him higher and higher, until finally, PAH! He was lifted free by the vines, and suspended in the air!

Gakkun could see the entire land! Below him was the gym, not too far from where he had been stopped.

'OY' he cried, WRIGGLING about in the vines' hold. 'LEMME DOWN.'

'Maaaaybe~' A voice said. Gakuto looked up. An orange-haired boy stood on top of the biggest beanstalk he had ever seen. 'What are you doing here? Who are you?'

'I am GAKKUN' Gakkun said, 'I am a GYMNAST.' He did a finishing stance to the best of his ability and looked at the boy. 'I am on my way to the gym!'

'ARE YOU.'

'YES.'

And the orange-haired boy nodded and waved a hand at the vines. 'Okay~'

And Gakkun fell! He TUMBLED through the air, ROLLING from one side to the other, doing FLIPS as he headed straaaaaaaight for the ground!

The trees moved aside, the vines withdrew to the briars, the petals and leaves scattered away, and there on the ground, a circular instrument of metal and mesh appeared! Gakkun laughed and THREW OUT HIS ARMS, glad to see that the trampoline had been returned home! With one BOUNCE and another BOUNCE, Gakkun landed safely, and was carried to the gym!

And so ends the tale of Gakkun and the Beanstalk.

[ooc: Um. Repeated the story to vines around campus, so if you want to have seen/heard this, go for it. Did it in the dorm room, too, by the way.]
