According to the FCNL, U.S. military spending has jumped from $1,500 per capita in 1998 to $2,700 per capita in 2008, and we are now spending 50 percent more (even excluding the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq) than we did on 9/11.

I think he's dead on target about the global corptacracy's attitude towards the Arab Spring. It's much easier (and cheaper) to buy off an individual dictator and his family than to give a fair share to an entire country's worth of people. If that situation ultimately turns into anything like democracy, there's going to be some renegotiation of oil company contracts...
