Blame roseofsinnoh for this one.

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Charon's on the short and pudgy side. Not exactly obese, but he's far from skinny.

2. How old is he?
65 during the middle of the player character's infiltration of Galactic HQ. About a year's passed since his arrival on the Island, however.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Charon is constantly hunched over due to age-induced postural kyphosis, though this doesn't stop him from carrying himself in an arrogant fashion. His arms are generally either behind his back or stuffed into his pockets, which tends to make him look as if he's constantly plotting or sulking, respectively.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He is somewhat out of shape and has had severely farsighted vision since childhood, but otherwise has no major disabilities or health problems to speak of.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
He's usually a little cautious and tense in his movements, but not so much that he'd be slow or clumsy because of it.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Charon isn't exactly very good-looking, and he's never really worried about whether or not he is attractive. He does prefer maintaining a somewhat professional look, however, so while he's not a lady-killer, he is well-kept.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
His skin is pale due to years of shutting himself inside of laboratories, and he is showing signs of aging around his eyes and cheeks.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
His hair is mauve, which is considerably grayer and lighter in shade than what it was back in the day. It's fairly thin and his hairline is receding, but there's still plenty left on his head to be parted into two distinct pseudo-bangs in the front and leave the rest to swoop back and up. Liberal applications of hair gel and combing can work wonders.

9. What color are his eyes?
A dull dark brown, which can be mistaken for black from a distance.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Years of irregular sleep patterns have left Charon with dark circles under his eyes and drooping eyelids, which gives him a perpetually tired look. His glasses may also count, as they are so ridiculously saturated with color that they stick out more than anything else on his person.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Hands and eyes. If something is pissing him off, a narrowing of the eyes is the primary indication. If something is really pissing him off, then he'll start clenching his fists with increasing tightness.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Charon isn't very fond of bright colors, so his wardrobe is rather neutral-- mostly greys, whites and blacks, with muted warm colors thrown in every so often. His rose-colored glasses are the only exception to this.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
They fit comfortably enough for him, though frankly they have to. Wouldn't want to run the risk of splitting any pants, now would he?

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
He doesn't dress exactly the same, but it's close enough that there may as well not be a difference. He wears black pants and dark shirts pretty much all the time. He'll wear gloves and a scarf on cold days, an ascot for formal events, and a Hawaiian shirt on exceptionally hot days. He also wears a lab coat even when he's not on business; he feels it adds to his "scientific genius" look, and it is extremely rare to see him without it.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Briefs. It's not like anyone's ever going to see them, so... yeah.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
His English dub voice is pretty much spot-on, if just a teensy bit lower in pitch.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Charon usually speaks evenly and in a slight monotone, with minor emotional fluctuation, and his voice is generally at a moderate volume. Whenever he gets worked up about something, however, his volume will rise and his emotions will become quite apparent as well.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He likes to phrase some of his questions in a mildly peculiar way ("Eh? What's this, then? Tried to chase me here, have you?") but other than that has no real tics or quirks.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
English, though he is also capable of understanding Rotom's speech without a problem.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Odd as it is, those superfluous words he uses all the time come naturally to him. He can pretty much speak impromptu at will.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Charon is pretty eloquent with his words, and he knows it. He loves to hear himself talk and he also loves to flaunt his vocabulary; he is rather fond of using ten words to describe something when three would suffice. His responses grow significantly shorter and less eloquent whenever he is angry or exceptionally flustered, and if he is provoked about the rare matter that he does not wish to converse about, he'll start to stumble over his own words.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Charon is by far quite intelligent in the book-smarts department, but holing himself up in laboratories for a good forty-or-something years of his life has left him pretty clueless in regards to street smarts. Occasionally he will use archaic words or take the literal meaning of an unfamiliar slang term.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He prefers to take the time to deliberate, but if the situation calls for it then he is capable of thinking on his feet.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Logical and practical, but self-absorbed. If there is something that needs to be done, more often than not the first thing that comes to his mind will be "What's in it for me?" This line of thinking is less apt to come into play when he is speaking with an acquaintance or the conversation is focused upon informal matters, though he still maintains focus on being logical regardless.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Insane amounts of independent study with small helpings of classroom study. He's completed higher education with majors in information technology and computer science, or whatever the hell allows him to program things and make 'em run.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Charon has a fairly wide knowledge of the basics in several scientific fields, though his primary interest and expertise lie in machinery, programming, and Electric and Ghost-type Pokémon. He also has a lot of practice in the field of being a total liar, and is not above stretching his credentials to make himself seem more impressive.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Primarily an introvert, though he'll open up a bit more around people that he's warmed up to. Get him started on certain topics and he will be more than happy to launch into some tl;dr, even if his only audience is a total stranger.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Even-tempered and neutral for the most part, and relatively laid-back about matters which he feels aren't of much concern to him. His mood swings tend to be subtle, though intentional provoking will make them more violent and sudden.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Charon maintains an air of suspicion about new things. If it's an unfamiliar situation, he will take the time to assess everything and then plot a reasonable course of action. If it's a new person, he will verbally provoke them a little bit and see what their response is.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act, unless he's already been provoked a great deal. Then he's just a gold mine of reactions.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight, especially if Rotom isn't within the vicinity to defend or distract.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Charon's sense of humor is heavily sarcastic and mildly sadistic. Most of his amusement is derived at the expense of others; watching people make fools of themselves or needling them into blind rages are a guaranteed way to get him cackling.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
There isn't any particular disorder to diagnose per se, but Charon does have the occasional delusion of grandeur. He also has a habit of denying anything that he doesn't want to be true to the point where it's almost a mantra in his mind.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Meeting Rotom is probably the most defining moment in Charon's life, as the sheer amount of curiosity and desire to find out what made that ghost tick is what ultimately inspired him to pursue science as more than just a hobby. His first unethical experiment, being accepted among the ranks of Silph Co., and later joining Team Galactic were also very defining moments for him.

14. What does he fear?
More than anything, Charon fears that all of his research will be discovered and published by some talentless no-name hack, and that they'll receive all of the credit and glory he rightfully deserves. A lesser-known but still strong fear is that any friend he makes will eventually disappear and never return, which was made most apparent in his childhood with his frantic searches all over town for a missing Rotom. Since getting mentally assaulted by Zoroark on the island a while ago, he's also begun to fear the possibility that he is going insane.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
His biggest aspiration is to be renown worldwide for his scientific genius, and as a result become rich and powerful.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
His birth name, anything relating to his family, and the fact that he has ongoing Rotom research presently.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
Both his mother and father are dead. Charon wasn't particularly close to them and in fact ended up poisoning them for an experiment when he was thirteen. He was rather indifferent towards their subsequent deaths, and merely wrote them off as sacrifices in the name of science.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
He had a sister, Carol, who was younger than him by three years. Her fascination with mythology and fantasy irritated him, but he was still closer to her than he was to any other humans at the time. She was poisoned on accident just after their parents died, but he had already disposed of the antidote, so she ended up a ghost confined to the walls of her bedroom. It rattled him enough to make him leave home, though he eventually persuaded himself that Carol was a scientific sacrifice as well.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
None whatsoever.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
There was a butler, Yancy, that took care of him and Carol whenever their parents were away, and though Charon did have some respect for the butler, the two still weren't very close. Yancy was another accidental victim of the poison, and became a ghost confined to the dining hall.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Rotom, of course. Charon first met it when he was about ten years old. He had been looking for his toy robot, and as soon as he found it, Rotom popped out of a nearby lawnmower. Both of them were curious about the other, but it was Rotom who took the initiative and actively pursued Charon in the hopes of being friends. He was a lot less jaded as a child and thus it didn't take long for him to warm up to the ghost. The two have been inseparable friends ever since.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Back in Sinnoh, he had an acquaintanceship with Professor Rowan, though Rowan was never made aware of Charon's standing in Team Galactic. On the Island, he's come to consider Francesca as the first actual human friend he's ever had. Agatha is also considered something of a friend, albeit only barely due to her constant trolling.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He can get along with people if they prove immune to his provoking, but it will be some time before he will outright consider them a friend.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Given that he doesn't really have any surviving relatives, friends pretty much win here by default.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single. He's never even been on a date before, let alone gotten married.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope, he's single and perfectly content to keep it that way.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
While he would never refer to it as an actual crush per se, he has gained an attraction to Francesca during his time on the Island. Following his utter humiliation during the truthfetti incident, he has done his best to deny said attraction in an attempt to prevent it from growing. It's not very effective...

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
He's not looking for one, but if he was, an ideal partner would be someone willing to respect him and challenge his wits. Wealthiness would be a bonus, too.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
He is childless and fully intends to remain that way.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Charon's relationship with his fellow Commanders is grudging and precarious at best, but Mars is the only one he would truly consider an enemy among the three since she was always the most vocal about her dislike for him. He also considers Cyrus to be his rival on an intellectual level, and doesn't really make much of a secret about his contempt and jealousy of Cyrus's power over the team.

In regards to the Island, Charon considers Agatha to be as much a rival as she is a friend-- "frenemy" would perhaps be a more accurate term here. Shaymin falls under this category as well, with far more emphasis on the 'enemy' part.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
As straight as anyone can get. On the Kinsey scale, he's a zero.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
He's never gotten any and has only passing knowledge about the act. He's resigned himself to the fact that he likely never will get any and that sex probably isn't all it's cracked up to be anyway, so its importance to him is practically nonexistent.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Charon gets a slight buzz from small amounts of pain, particularly if it is electrically-induced. This was found out entirely on accident when he was a young adult, during an experiment with Rotom concerning general nerve responses to varying levels of electricity. It wasn't intended to be anything sexual-- he just happened to find the charges and the resulting pain to be a little too stimulating.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
His date of birth was intentionally selected for a suitable type, which ended up being Capricorn.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Neither, and given his occupation as a scientist, they're not terribly important, either.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He has something resembling a code of ethics that came about after he became a full-fledged scientist. One of the most prominent parts of this code is the notion of consent; if the subject of any given experiment is capable of providing consent, then they must do so in order for him to proceed with the experiment. (Of course, Charon's definition of "capable of providing consent" is rather arbitrary and can change at any point depending on his mood or motivation.)

His number one rule, however, is he cannot use human subjects in life-threatening experiments. He decided upon this one after the poison/antidote experiment from his youth, and he adheres to it rigidly. It would take either a high sum of money or else life or death for him (or Rotom) in order to compromise it.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Charon frowns upon anyone who doesn't hold his beliefs, but he'll tolerate them if the person is in good standing with him or if they don't try and continuously insist that they're right. If that happens, or if he just doesn't like the person, then he will go out of his way to prove them wrong.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He doesn't think very highly of anyone who doesn't believe that he science is right, because he is Mr. Egobloat a scientist and generally takes offense at people who dismiss his lifelong devotion. Anyone who smack-talks Rotom also gets an immediate promotion to enemy in Charon's book.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
At the present time, his financial situation is comfortable. Growing up as a filthy rich child has spoiled him to being upper-class, however, which is why he aims to get as much money as he can.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Charon's generally been regarded as the unfriendly oddball in the dark corner of the room, which over time has turned into being regarded as the creepy old scientist in the dark corner of the room. It hasn't been much of a problem for him, though he does aspire to change that and make everyone know him as the genius scientist who commands everyone's respect.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
His place of residence is a small house on the outskirts of Eterna City, not too far from the forest. It's tidy if a bit dusty, seeing as how it's more a place to crash whenever he's not staying in the Galactic Headquarters. The only one he shares that house with is Rotom on the days it decides to stay over. On the Island, he has a more permanent residence in the form of a small and tidy house which is noticeably less dusty than its Sinnoh counterpart, primarily due to Rotom and Eris both sharing it with him and not allowing much dust to settle during their many romps.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Lab equipment and Internet services whenever he's lying low about mooching off other people's wireless.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
At the present time, he works as Team Galactic's chief scientist and their most recently-promoted Commander. The work is pretty effortless for him, but he finds it more entertaining to stall and piss off the other Commanders. Charon would rather his efforts in the Team be used to make a profit instead of a new world, but being on the side of the crazies does increase his own chance of survival for this supposed new world, so either way, he figures he doesn't have much to lose from working with them.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
If he's not working on a project for Team Galactic, then chances are he's working on a project for himself or conducting a freelance experiment. If he's not doing that, then he's likely either researching something related to Ghost or Electric-Type Pokémon, or trolling participating in debates on scientific forums.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Three meals a day; one in the morning, one at noon, and one in the evening, though his definition of "evening" can range anywhere from sundown to midnight. He outright skips meals if he's engrossed in a project, and he'll allow himself a glass of wine with dinner on special occasions.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? Bright orange.
2. Smell? OLD SPICE Forests.
3. Time of day? The insane hours of the morning, when nobody else is awake.
4. Season? Autumn.
5. Book? No real preference as long as it's nonfiction.
6. Music? Classical music, particularly piano pieces.
7. Place? His Sinnoh laboratory.
8. Substance? Aspirin?
9. Plant? Silver maple tree.
10. Animal? Felines (mostly by proxy, since he has a minute liking to Skitties. But only a minute one. Really.)
