2 weeks ago I found my spine. I noticed while I was turning my head that I could feel the individual vertebrae moving. This is very exciting. I have practiced maintaining this every day because body awareness is a good thing

I can't do this, but it's interesting that you can feel "one vertebra at a time," which is a standard Pilates jargon phrase that my Tai Chi instructor also says when he's talking about spine waves. (usually the overlaps that I notice are between Tai Chi and tap dancing, but sometimes it works with Pilates). I'm pretty sure that Mark doesn't do Pilates or tap dance, but bodies are bodies. At some point I'll write up an observation I made about how rowing is like ringing, but it can wait. All Pilates teachers I've ever heard use vertebrae for both the singular and plural but that doesn't change the fact that we're supposed to be that aware. Or that flexible. or both.
