I think those of us who like Lolcats are likely the kind of people who find babytalk (and other forms of infantile humor) cute. It is not for everyone.

Me, I find it interesting and amusing to imagine how cats would interact with humans if they could actually speak.

Also, cats are cute and fuzzy and woam an' purry and teh bestest peepls arownd. Omg I just wuvs dem to itsybitsy peeses.

Also, your blue/gray background color is driving me nuts. It makes the cursor nearly invisible while typing comments.

also, my Internal Reading Voice is fucking hi-LAR-ious when it reads LOLcats captions. its the equivalent of watching anthony hopkins dance the hoochie coochie.

Ahem! No, really, I find them quite annoying. Just because cats look dumb sometimes doesn't mean they wouldn't know how to type in non-internet speak if they had opposable thumbs. I think cats are probably better spellers and /or too good for "I iz in ur house..."

I think it's just a way for people to indulge their desire to make fun of immigrants (illegal or otherwise) and mentally disabled people without actually taking the risk of offending someone.
