I MAKE LEATHER..... leathermystics August 9 2010, 03:35:31 UTC
I'm getting more and more requests for Mord Sith costumes. The problem is doing one-offs is VERY time consuming and trying to come up with a pattern with a more "generic fit" is also going to create issues.

I'm hoping to have a working pattern done in the next few weeks...

I'll try to keep everyone posted....

I would love to have this costume. The original is way out of my price range. What are you charging for a full set?

haven't had time to get to it yet.
I know it would be a major undertaking to do it up right.

a half-assed effort would be easy.

to do it right, likely in the $1200-1500 range....

This took me 3 months to make, the year before I made the Mother confessor outfit.

I LOVE the Mord Sith costume! What fabric did you use and where did you buy it?

It was a faux leather with a felt backing for the accessories and real leather pants and vest I converted for the costume.

Thanks for the super awesome guide Galadriel! The high res reference pictures have been very helpful to me. I'm currently building a Mord Sith costume using a spandex body suit with a mock turtle neck. I actually debated long and hard about the whole "bathroom" challenge and opted to request the crotch zipper despite being slightly horrified. I figure I can always pick the zipper and stitch the seam closed if it's too fetish for my vanilla self ;) I should have a pattern for the neck piece at least that can be purchased in my etsy store. The waist corset is pretty complex though. I'm draping the pattern and it may ultimately only make sense to me :P If it's more straightforward than I fear, I'll share it too.

I'm kind of wondering what it would look like to do the crescent moon and star in gold instead of yellow. Like use metallic leather die/paint or a paint marker kind of concept. And maybe just outlines and not filled in?
