My beloved red mp3 player died about a year ago. Then I used the BF's one for a while, but he needed it back so I bought one - it turned out to be crap quality shit player and while I'm using it as I type it doesn't really count as decent. Sometimes in between I bought another one and it was excellent, only a redbull can exploded in my bag and ( Read more... )

I rec an ipod because... moltobene1925 December 22 2006, 15:04:23 UTC
I have two. I'm not kidding, I have a shuffle for when I go jogging (not the new one, although that's total lust for me) and a full size 60 gig one. I asked around a bit on my flist and random people and they all told me to get an ipod. Now that I have one I'm happy I went that route. ITunes is easy to use and the store even has free uploads every weeks so you can find out about new music. I've also compared mine to other mp3 players out there and the sound quality on an iPod kicks the others into the dirt. I suggest staying away from the Nano unless you're the playlist sort. I like having all my music on me and I have waaaaaaaaaaay too much for a Nano to hold. IPods are easy to operate and durable. If you order yours from apple.com you can have them engrave your name on the back. I know they're expensive but worth it, believe me. I've gotten so much use out of mine and taken it on road trips. Batterly life on them rocks.
Hope that helps, I'm half hung over.

I have a 30GB video one. I bought it about nine months ago. I'd been wanting to get one for two or three years. I'm not into fashion either, but I know that Apple makes a good product. They're the most popular mp3 player for a reason ( ... )

I have a mini, but they don't make them anymore. I had problems with compatability when I first got it. I found they were sensitive when first being configured to a computer, and as my little laptop is old and slow, it messed everything up until an IT friend plugged it in - I hate when that happens fixed it. Now that it's set up, I love it. Take it everywhere and have most of my music on there. There are much better and fancier models out there now, iTunes is easy to use and I can play what I want, set up playlists as I'm out and about, and the battery life is good.

Having said all that in defense of iPod, a lot of my friends use Sony Creativs and recommend them highly, but I can't vouch for them personally.

I have a Creative Zen MicroPhoto that I love to pieces. Not exactly helpful for your ipod quest, I know, but you might want to look into them.
