I've been toying with attending Randy's current play. Initially, the review of the 2005 New Haven production made me think the schlep was not worth it:

It wouldn't be a question for me. If I had company I'd come up with any excuse and could probably even wing a good one. Years of practice to get my way when things really matter to me.
I'm really the wrong person to ask; I know that, I'm easy where Randy is concerned - then again I have never seen him on stage, it's unlikely I ever will. Be it fangirly or not, I'd jump at the opportunity. Yeah, I know answers like that aren't helpful as they are not based on anything remotely clever or intellectually convincing. Go figure!

I wouldn't get on a plane for him.
I'm sorry you're so far away. For more than just your Randy access.

Yeah, I feel the same. It would be nice to live near by.
I know you've had your share of Randy plays and basically you can choose. Go for your gut feeling then. As I say I usually don't really comment when he is in a current play and people debate on whether they should go or not, cos all I can say is dumb really.
But I am always grateful for reviews, shared experiences as they are my sole source of information.

I was glad to see you posting since I haven't seen you around on LJ. Have missed BJ connect. Hope you are having a good spring!

Nice to hear from you too. I just returned from vacation. I had web access, but was busy in the non-virtual world. I understand brian_pa and justin_nyc have been getting along well lately. They don't tend to post as often when things are running smoothly. Of course, nothing stays smooth with those two for long.

You wouldn't believe what we've done to see Paul McCartney. Again and again and again.
I'd go and watch him. If I had the chance I'd jump.

From a sexual perspective, it's always been about Gale for me, and yet I found SLS mostly intolerable. It didn't help that Gale was the weakest link, who unlike Randy really isn't suited or talented enough (yet) for the stage.
You're so prolific in your fan love! And as much as you wish you were logistically close to seeing Randy on stage, I envy you the ability to weekend in London. Wow.
(I get confused with you two sometimes. You're Arrow, right? Nicki already replied above and signed her name.)

I'm taking over here, because...
But with live theatre, I'm a snob
... arrow is the biggest snob I know when it comes to theatre. Always brutally honest and the most critical person I know. I'm the shallow one in this family, arrow is the one with taste.
Me I'm often fangirly inside, never let anyone see that in public though and arrow - not at all - but she'd indulge me.
Still when it comes to theatre I'm not easily won over myself and up to this day I wait for one of my "crushes" to really convince me on stage.

The play opens tonight
Let's hope they tightened it up before tonight's show. We can hope, right? LOL.
I remember when I went to see A&C, I wished I was seeing the Pinter play that was open at the time. This time I'll be longing for God of Carnage.
