I apologize in advance for this long-winded essay wherein I seem to do nothing but gripe about my fellow citizens, but this has been in my head for a few weeks now, and I have finally figured out how to get it out, so here goes

I'll admit that I started to gloss over half way through reading that, but that was entirely because you were preaching to the choir. The stupidity of people astounds me, but if you look at our history from the founding of the country, it has always been about the fine print from day one. It's like the original constitution should have had an asterisk after "all men are created equal" with a big old long ass line at the bottom of the page that said something involving this:

*Except where prohibited by law, gender, racial background, religious belief or the fact that we just don't like you. Especially expect to be treated unequally if you have little money, express opinions that vary wildly from our own, or dare to attempt to make us actually uphold our laws as written, instead of as interpreted by tea readers and religious readers, and it later years, the lawyers.
