relationships definitely suffer when they become canon, but thats just because writers cant seem to be able to do anything from that point on except cause needless drama and have them break-up-then-make-up 932048230948230 times. as for grissom and sara.....i happen to LOVE them. and i strongly disagree about their not being a web of relationships - for me, thats the most fun thing about csi! yes, technically g/s is the only CANON 'ship (though thats only been for a season), but you can basically make a case for any pairing. grissom/catherine, catherine/warrick, sara/nick, nick/catherine (heh. my own guilty pleasure.), sara/greg, sara/catherine, nick/grissom, nick/greg.....etc, etc, etc. its fascinating. until they made gsr canon, it was the perfect formula: you have the actual case for the older viewers, and then if thats not your thing you have the relationships, which they played around with enough so that everyone was happy and could claim that their pairing was the show's otp

certainly - youre already on my flist! i think i saw you in a community somewhere and commented on your username and then decided to friend you? i dont remember. anyway, im only paranoid when it comes to people i know in real life. i like to say whatever i want to say on lj, and some friends have taken advantage of that in the past. but fandom friends are more than welcome! the way i look at it, if you have no idea who i am in rl, why does it matter if you know who i have a crush on, etc? plus, i love to talk about tv and my rl friends start to get bored/creeped out

dont get me wrong i also ship all the time. and im huge on fanfiction and what is fanfiction without pairings haha. im also all for extremities and im a hopeless slasher so i got used to my ships not being canon at all :D but especially for that reason i hate to watch ppl together when i dont think they actually fit together. so this whole unshipping stuff comes fom the fact that im maybe too stubborn about my ships and their rightness.
but this makes me realise that this theory still needs perfectioning :D
