If so, could you pick a name that doesn't directly get the heckles of future employers up if I use my time wasting in Livejournal as an example of what I've been doing the last while before looking for work? Pretty please? Then I can join it fancy free. I understand if it's not possible too.

You are, I think, a little overly paranoid about that- just google your name a la "your name" and if your LJ doesn't come up then they aren't going to find it unless you tell them the screen name you use.

That's the point. I will be telling them the username of my LJ. Depending on the job I am being interviewed for. >:)
