I have never been mourning over dead rock or movie starts before. Even though I liked so many of them and really enjoy their music/movie/books. I somehow didn’t relate myself anyhow and all those posts in FB made by my friends that one more great famous personality passed away due to cancer/hard stroke/overdose never touched my heart. But this week ( Read more... )

Hi Galina. Thanks for your message. I read your note here and it's very touching. You express yourself very well in English. Why do kids do drugs? It's a difficult question. I've had drug addicts and alcoholics in my family, and some of them had very loving and attentive parents. They fell into drugs when they started hanging with the wrong crowd, were pressured into trying it and then became hooked. It's the same with Cory - on the outside he appeared to have everything. Good looks, a successful career, amazing talent. But inside he was battling a serious demon. His loss is a real tragedy.

I suppose everyone has addictions in life - some people eat too much, some people continually find themselves in bad relationships, some people are alcoholics or drug addicts. I think you're correct to suggest that parents should have a very open and honest relationship with children. My parents were wonderful and I was never tempted to do drugs or other destructive behavior.

Hi Shannon! Thanks for you comment. I'm still very confused. If parents were loving and attentive, why their children started to hang out with a wrong crowd? For some reason when I was a teen I always got a feeling of right and wrong situation (crowd) for me.. or is it again about "green house" condition of my school..
I agree that people tend to have some addictions and I know that I'm not an exception, but i try to switch them to something that can improve me, like sport addiction, nutrition research addiction, travel addiction etc.
What are yours addictions?

We can never understand the actions/mentality of some people. They live insider their own heads and neuroses. I'm the same as you - a good judge of character because my parents taught me common sense and morals. My addiction is food! I've battled my weight my entire life. In high school, I was obese, but now am normal size (though not skinny). So, it's a constant challenge not to eat sweets and other tasty things that pack on pounds. :) I try to be active, so in the end I guess it evens out. I will never entirely deny myself the pleasure of indulging in sweets on occasion. We must have some joy in life. :)
