+1 NICOLA ROBERTS THOUGH. Her album is magic, perfect, etc. This should skyrocket her career and her plays on my last.fm. (

I had such high hopes, but this episode really let me down. There was not enough character and the episodic plot was very boring. I am actually blaming this on the lack of alt!verse action. For the season opener they should come out with a bang, an intricate plot that allowed us to see the stark contrast between our characters and the alt!characters and explore the new dynamic in a Peter-less world. But instead it was kinda ehh and focused in solely on our world.
And another thing that is bothering me is how large they are portraying Peter's effect on Olivia. (I am not sure if that grammar is correct, but whatevs.) I do think that he has had a large impact on Olivia in the past few years, but saying that he is a huge looming hole over all of her life seems a litte like overreaching. I would have enjoyed if they had sent Olivia back to her S1 characterization, but what they are doing now makes her seem more distant than ever, which I do not think should be the case. Obviously Olivia is going to be withdrawn no matter what due to her abusive step-father, but I feel like she has an inner strength that would transcend that without the help of Peter back in 1986.
Yet another thing: since the show presented the Cortexiphan trials as having been taken over by Walter in order to facilitate sending Peter back, so without Peter does this mean that Olivia was never treated with it? If that is true than I am going to be fucking pissed. I really liked that point of Olivia's character. I am keeping hope that this season will get better though.
+3 Despite Fringe's lackluster-ness this week, I am thinking of downloading some caps to mess around with.
