Clementine has been doing this head shaking thing every once in a while since I switched her food to the grain free kind. She used to get rashes under her armpits, was always scratching all the time, got hot spots, lots of eye gunk, and used to get lots of these little hard lumps on her skin if it got hot. she's so fucking gorgeous.

with the head shakes, have you smelt or cleaned her ears recently? do they stink more then usual?

what grain free are you feeding, again? Go! ? or Now! ? because they can be fed back and forth, also you might wasnt to concider Instinct's Rabbit grain free line - A whole new protein source she's never tried before.

As for the creaking and cracking, you can buy glucosamine pills or treats with glucosamine already saturated in them. =)

I try to clean her ears out when i can but she does not like it very much. They don't stink any more than they normally do. I'll try to get her ears cleaned by a groomer to see if it helps.

I feed her natural balance LID duck and sweet potatoe. I will pick up some of those pills too! Thanks for all the advice.

The only thing is she may be shaking her head because many allergies affect ears - yeasty stinky wet sounding ears are common in allergic dogs.
