Macho Again beat Einstein today...

I was just thinking about Icecapade descendants...  I hadn't had it straight in my head that he was one.  I'm glad that Macho Again is racing again this year -- I suppose they needed him to be to pick up this Grade I win.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for grays and think he's elegant as all get-out.

I was thinking the other day how awesome it would be to do the Travers Stakes race with you. Basically just a chance to show off Saratoga and wear crazy hats.

It sounds now like this year's Travers will be a Charitable Man, Mine That Bird, Summer Bird rematch.

I was actually at Saratoga on Travers Day once... I don't even know what year. My family was camping somewhere in NY and I convinced them to emerge from the woods for long enough to see the race. We showed up right before, and it was so crowded we couldn't get near the track & watched it on one of the monitors inside. I can't figure out what year it was -- how wild is that? Maybe Thunder Gulch in '95? That's what I'd like to tell myself :-)

My aunt and her boyfriend dragged us to the Track on T-shirt Sunday, which was also horribly packed and hot. The obvious solution is to just go on a random Wednesday during the season. And wear silly "My Fair Lady" hats.

Also it's odd how despite living in Saratoga county for most of my life, I've only been that one time. We just like hearing the wild stories of the celebrities that come up, like MaryLou Whitney. Have you been to the Canfield Casino? I can't remember if you ever did Dance Flurry with us.

No, I seemed to be chronically unable to ever make it to Dance Flurry. It was like I meant to every year! :(

Saratoga is such a legendary track, and it's supposed to be so beautiful, laid-back, etc. I had the sense that Travers day might have been the wrong day to see it, like if you saw Monmouth only on Haskell day.
