all-nighter emotional?
I was poking around the Old Friends website, because, uh, I haven't given up procrastinating even though the paper was due yesterday and it's 7am now.
Now I'm all teary-eyed because I read that Lava Man, who was originally scheduled to arrive at his retirement home at Old Friends in April, will arrive in June. Why the delay? Because he's ( Read more... ) -
Cheating Spring
Win: the native grass I just seeded in some parts of the rain garden likes a few wintery weeks to help it germinate.
Win: Sunflower seedlings in coke-bottle terrariums. Some even without caps, seem to be surviving last night's hard frost with minimal disgruntlement.
Lose: Yep, still early for morning glories.

Throw away your mind.
On a happier note, I dug for an hour and a half in the garden today. In another 2 hours' work or so, we'll have the first 70sf or so of our rain garden dug out. We're digging the whole thing to a depth of 2 feet (filling in behind ourselves as we go - it's called "double-digging," I'm told).
