I'm recording my trip - my first real road trip EVER!!! - on my LJ. This is day 1. I cut it for those who just don't care. Warning if you click the link: VERY IMAGE HEAVY. I have a digicam, and I can point and click with the best of them. *laugh*

I remember when I drove from Portland down through I-84 to Utah, we passed the Ore-Ida packaging plant on the Oregon/Idaho border, and it suddenly dawned on me at that very moment for the first time exactly how Ore-Ida got its name!

I felt like the last person on the planet to figure it out.

OMG, I cried and then laughed. I miss the pacific north west. It is too bad you couldn't have seen the Oregon Coast before you headed to TX!

Agreed! Ah, well. I definitely plan on coming back this way, and I'll probably take the desert route and go north through California. I really enjoy seeing all the cool stuffs!
