I'm supposed to use this thing to tell people about the things I do, right?
Well, this past week, I spent many hours working at Pickwick Independent Press, (where I have a kick ass internship with the wonderful Lisa Pixley) trying to finish up my steampunk piece for the Maine Illustrators Collective show. It was pretty much the first time I've done very much in the way of printmaking, excusing a handful of linoleum block prints, and I'm very pleased with how it came out. I haven't taken any photos yet, or scanned any of the prints, but I do have this flyer I made for the event.
Like it says, if you'd like to see my print, or any of the other really cool art made by the other members of the MeIC, then you can stop by the wonderful Green Hand bookstore anytime in June. I highly recommend it. Here's me at the opening night.
Unfortunately, neither my wicked pince-nez nor my black and rust painted hair flowers seem to be at all visible in that photo. Ah well, I got lots of compliments on both my art and the outfit that night anyhow.
Also, other exciting news. I've been told that for the month of August, the Green Hand bookstore will be available to me to put on my very first solo show. Yes indeed. Sea Monsters anyone? I'll keep you updated.
