Oh my God Ow Weekend

Dec 14, 2014 08:46

Or at least, what's left of the weekend. The jujitsu place had a visiting instructor fly in, some big wig black belt dude. We were all heavily encouraged to attend his sessions every chance, which meant Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, plus the actual 5 1/2 hour seminar he taught yesterday on Saturday. Then we had regular class on the Tuesday before. I attended every single function. That's about 3 weeks of jujitsu in five days. I now have 3 weeks of bruises and sprains, except without the usual spread for me to recover. The worst is my right elbow. It's been hyperextended or something. Extending it, opening it, closing it - all hurt. I'm sure typing doesn't help, but fuck it. I have a poultice on it at the moment and will ice it once my morning stuff gets done. I've taken ibuprofen and am resisting the urge to simply be drunk all day.

I have a bunch of stuff I wanted to get done this weekend, only one day to do it in, and I'm crippled up now. :(

I had a list of stuff written out Thursday, but I left it at work (just to add to my week, we did physical inventory on Friday, which involved being out of the office and doing a lot of standing on concrete in not-very-comfortable-or-supportive steel-toed shoes). So here's what I'm thinking:
  • Finish MBU entry
  • Bread and cinnamon rolls. The bread will go to work with me for our company lunch thing on Tuesday.
  • Pumpkin pie (the pie crust is nearly two weeks old - I have to cook it or toss it)
  • Thaw the 2 lb bag of cooked sweet potatoes and divide it into 4 oz bags for daily portions
  • Go grocery shopping
  • Make spaghetti for kids and boyfriend to eat today
  • Make pork and veggies for my 10 o'clock snack for the next week
  • Make pork and kidney beans for my lunches for the next week
  • Boil eggs
  • Portion boiled egg whites and cottage cheese for 2 o'clock snack for the next week
  • Cut bell peppers and mushrooms for breakfast portions (they go with the scrambled eggs) for the next week
I also have a bunch of gifts to wrap and sort and stage, but that can wait. Same with extra tree decorations and cutting my son's hair, shucking some of these pecans, cleaning up the living room, and so on. I might see what I can assign to other family members, but my boyfriend's probably no more functional than I am. At least he's complaining about as loudly, so I'll leave him alone.
