Together, Corel, Aelan, Vitoria and Anande set off to New York City, to get the Duke and Duchess there as fast as possible. After some time driving, Corel began to feel the effects of banality on his soul, which he realized likely occured because of what he did with Dr. Stone. Although this effect eventually was obvious, none of his friends really pushed the issue much, and thus Corel once again avoided having to explain what he had done. They drove onward, until partway through Pensylvania, they came to a roadblock. As it contained no police vehicles, but instead a number of fae (including 3 Sidhe), Corel guessed they were waiting for him. He slowed down before reaching that roadblock, and called HQ to apprise them of the situation. While doing so, Corel kept bunking, eventually releasing a rather lackluster creation of fire underneath one car (not nearly enough to ignite the gas tank as he had hoped). As he did so, one of the Sidhe summoned forth a nightmare chimera, and he realized the jig was up. Throwing the van into reverse, he turned it around as fast as he could and drove off away from them, as the Nightmare chimera gave chase. Though he was moving faster than it until he got into the next town (on the way around the roadblock), he hit enough red lights there that he could see it approaching him from behind as he drove through a residential area. In a calculated trick, Corel lay on the horn, awakening the owners of the houses and bringing them to their windows. The sheer banality coming from that many viewers at once drove off the Nightmare beast, as well as its Sidhe riders, and sent them back to the dreaming. Until New York state, the rest of the trip was uneventful. However, as he crossed into that state, he noticed a chimerical tank (with no "mortal" part) following him. Once again finding a populated area, Corel tricked it to following him past some more houses, where he once again sent such a creature to the Dreaming.

He arrived safely at RBHQ, where he handed over the prisoners to the proper authorities. After doing so, he was encouraged to take a bit of rest, which he and his compatriots all decided was a rather good idea. Thus, they went off to sleep for a few hours, after their very long day previously.
When he awoke later that afternoon, Corel grabbed a quick meal. He was then found by a Gwydion page, who told him Ananda was looking for him, and was waiting in one of the courtyards. He found her there, and the two of them talked for a while. She had been concerned about Corel's use of banality, and also just wanted to make sure things were alright with him. He was still rather secretive with her, however, not mentioning what he had done with Dr. Stone (although she did wonder how he had dealt with the Chimera zoo). Corel dismissed her concerns, however, saying she was overreacting. Corel left, made a full and formal report to Duke Tiaron of the Red Branch, and then rested some more before preparing to return to DC.

Corel returned to Washington and took stock with Ayame of what had been going on in his absence. Mostly, she had just been securing the area in their absence, dealing with the Shadow Courtiers, etc. As he and Aelan and Ananda were hanging around, Corel finally decided it was time to deal with Dr. Stone. Together, the three of them set out to try to find her once more, and stop her. They came across her watching and, wondering what she was examining, Corel suggested the group wait and watch as well. They did so for a while, until eventually she started moving further down the alley she was at. Corel chased after her, and, when she noticed him, he had the others wait as he approached her.
Dr. Stone and Corel began talking, with Corel wondering what she was doing. Apparently, he realized, a group of childlings had been using the alley as a hangout and were ravaging people nearby; Dr. Stone was waiting for them to come out to stop them. Corel once again tried to reason with her, convince her that she really was fae. However, she was recalcitrant, and unwilling to believe that she was actually fae. Realizing she was an Eshu, corel decided his best option was to attempt to use that knowledge to his advantage. Using her flaw, he managed to get her to agree to give him a week to convince her she was actually a fae as well, and to remain with him (thus, where he could keep an eye on her) during that time. With a new follower, Corel now had a new mission.
