[No, Mello's there almost instantly and he stands framed in the doorway. He crosses himself seemingly unable to move for a few moments, eyes focused on the horrible scene in front of him. Then he zeros in on Matt who was forced to watch the whole thing. He manages to walk across the room to Matt's side, falling to his knees next to the redhead.]

[Mello will be able to see the worst of it from the moment he steps in the room. Ai's body lies beside the couch, her face beaten beyond recognition. Blood still drips from it. The man is quickly spreading out a sheet beside her and then rolls her body into it. The hem of her shirt rises a little, revealing a midsection that's shades of purple and black.]

She got her wish.

[Matt murmurs the words, eyes averted from the door to the extra bedroom that's open and hanging by one hinge now. He wants to reach out to Mello, take him by the shoulders and turn him away. Matt can disconnect himself from things that Mello can't. His emotions are too strong for it. But his will is even stronger. Matt knows he wouldn't allow himself to be turned away.]

That;s the worst thing about it all. Watching them for a week you build some form of familiarity to them for it to hurt a little.
