I helped Roomie Ben move in with his girlfriend Rosa today. It wasn't too hard, but after we were done, Rosa offered me this large Congo drum with all these cool stickers on it and everything. bah, stop beating yourself up. there's costlier mistakes you and I have both made. mine involve thousands of dollars, insurance, and my car.

but I know what you mean about not having been more involved with instruments when younger. I wish I played violin as a kid like my brother did; it would have made picking up guitar a lot easier (which I still have no handle on whatsoever). I wish I played more piano as a kid, something I'm reminded of everytime I see the Bards play. I wish I played trumpet in college so that I could have continued developing my skill, and probably pick up another brass instrument.

our only solution is to avoid regret and just do what we can from here. and when we have kids, give them every opportunity to excel in what they like.... but without forcing them. god forbid we become the parents forcing their kids to live the lives that they wanted.
